EDF Energy Tariff Update: Act Now for Savings!

Time is running out to secure an energy tariff that's £109 cheaper than Ofgem's current price cap. EDF Energy is pulling its Essentials 1Yr Apr25 tariff from sale at 4pm today. This one-year fixed rate deal is priced at £1,581 per year, a significant saving compared to Ofgem's April price cap of £1,690.

The decision to withdraw this tariff is influenced by updated forecasts predicting a rise in the energy price cap later this year. Consultancy firm Cornwall Insight anticipates an 8% drop in July, bringing the price cap to around £1,560, but suggests it could climb back to over £1,630 by year-end.

Why the Tariff Withdrawal?

Despite falling wholesale energy prices in recent months, EDF has seen a significant uptick recently. Rich Hughes, Director of Retail at EDF, highlights the urgency for consumers to act swiftly to secure the best available tariff.

EDF Energy Tariff Details:

- Gas: 5.62p/kWh, standing charge of 32.04p/day

- Electricity: 23.74p/kWh, standing charge of 40.78p/day

How to Secure the EDF Tariff:

This offer is open to both new and existing EDF customers. Access the deal by calling EDF directly or sign online. Please note, a smart meter installation is required or must be agreed upon. Existing customers can also register through their online account or the EDF app.
